And at State House on Thursday, Raila pleaded with Uhuru to establish a mechanism of allowing Kenyans to write their autobiographies, a request which was granted by the Head of State.

"I want to propose the issue of chronicling is so important. But I know it is a challenge to many people. In South Africa, there is an institution that has people writing their autobiographies. You find that many people who participated in the world liberation in South Africa have written books and I think we need to go that direction Mr. President.

"There are so many people who are dying with a lot of history in their heads and that is not useful to our coming generations. This will help us to train our people to know where we are coming from, so that they know where they should be heading to," said Raila.

And the president said the proposal would be worked upon adding that it will be important to avail historical information.

He said that such avenue would allow Kenyans who made history to narrate for the future generations in writing.

"I agree with Raila. This is something we need to do urgently and it must happen," he said.
