Speaking in various church fundraisers in Buuri constituency, Meru County on Sunday, Ruto said that he is ready to contest against Raila.

Ruto who is considered one of the front runners in the race to State House affirmed that he will beat Raila hands down in 2022.

He also said that he has no time for petty politic since he is concentrating on issues of development.

“I want to tell him (Mr Odinga) that I am not worried about competing him but I want him to reassure Kenyans that he will not cause chaos,” Ruto said.

The handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta has left Ruto’s camp jittery. It remains unclear whether Uhuru will stand with Ruto as he positions himself to take over power.

Ruto is banking on the support of Uhuru to beat Raila in the contest for the presidency.
