Police in Kiambu County have netted what is believed to be fake currency in Ruiru.
The fake money amounting to billions of shillings was found in a residential house reportedly owned by a pastor identified as Mr Munyao.
The police also recovered one Tiger Power gun and poisonous chemicals they believe might have been used in the production of the counterfeit bills.
The police believe that this is a mega scam being used by criminals to con innocent Kenyans.
The law enforcers suspect that a certain amount of the fake currency has since found its way into innocent Kenyans' pockets and shops.
The fake money which also includes US dollar bills and other foreign currencies was found hidden in boxes, apparently awaiting dispersal.
The law enforcers also nabbed the house owner Mr Munyao, who is now helping detectives handling the case with investigations.
The officers have also linked the crime to an ongoing case where seven men are accused of using President Uhuru Kenyatta's voice to con a popular business mogul millions of money.
The group reportedly used a phone number registered under Uhuru's name to offer Sameer Africa Naushad Merali a sweet land offer before conning him Sh10 million earlier in the month.
