The leaders led by Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi on Saturday convened a meeting at Kamel Park Hotel in Kisii where they discussed the BBI report.

Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, Maangi said after attentively reading and analyzing the report, they had resolved to support it.

"This initiative was intended to unite the country and not polarize it further, our support for the document is hereby guaranteed. The constitution provides the avenues through which constitutional amendments can be made in Kenya, through the parliament or through a referendum, subject to the thresholds provided by the supreme law," said the Deputy Governor.

He added; "The elements of the report should be subjected to the parliamentary route, and where applicable, through the referendum. Precaution should be taken to ensure this process is inclusive and representative as expressed in the spirit of our constitution, and that it is geared towards serving the interests of the common mwananchi, and not politicians".

Maangi who is DP Ruto's point man in Kisii also challenged residents to find the time and read and familiarize themselves with the report.
