Five people have lost their lives after a grisly road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The accident involving three vehicles happened near Malewa river after a personal car rammed into a truck.
The driver of the personal car heading to Nairobi from Nakuru is said to have attempted overtaking other vehicles before colliding head in with the truck and rolling to the side.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the sad incident stating that a child was among those who died.
Those injured were rushed to Naivasha sub-county hospital for treatment while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the area mortuary.
"We had an unfortunate accident in the afternoon where we lost five people following an accident that involved three cars along the highway," Waweru said as quoted by the Standard.
This accident comes just hours after another grisly accident along the highway that claimed the life of a school principal who was heading to Naivasha town to pick exams.
Their vehicle rammed into a stalled truck where two centre managers sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment at Kijabe hospital.
