Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura maintains that the axed Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri would not have resigned since he wanted sympathy.
Speaking during an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Mwaura said that Kiunjuri was ready for his sacking but could not go ahead taking the first step of resigning since he wanted sympathy from the public.
"I think Mwangi would not have resigned because he wanted to attract sympathy," Mwaura said.
He, however, noted that Kiunjuri, having been a close ally of both President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto should have joined defunct TNA back in the day.
"Mwangi Kiunjuri was brought into the cabinet because he was a strong ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto but he defied them by not joining TNA," he said.
However, political analyst Herman Manyora revealed that the sacking of the former CS was politically motivated.
Manyora said Uhuru's sacking of Kiunjuri has a political undertone.
"Kiunjuri was sacked because of politics. What President Uhuru did today was politics," Manyora stated.
In a statement after his sacking, Kiunjuri said it was no surprise to him as he saw it coming.
