ODM leader Raila Odinga has reportedly asked businessman Don Bosco Gichana to join him in efforts to preach peace and prosperity in the country, it has emerged.
For close to two hours on Saturday, the two leaders met and discussed a number of issues with peace and handshakes dominating their first encounter in five years.
"Raila first sympathised with Don Bosco's incarceration in Tanzania and they talked extensively about peace and forgiveness.
" In fact, Raila asked Bosco to join Building Bridges Initiative. He pledged to go with him around the country and explain why tribal animosity should it. It was more of a father-son meeting," a source said in confidence.
Also, Raila is said to have asked Bosco to personally take charge of Gusii region, adding that he prefer working with him in 2017 polls.
Moments after the meeting, Bosco took to social media where he hailed Mr Odinga as his mentor, adding that he had personally helped him to secure freedom from Tanzania prison.
"His RT Hon Raila Amollo. You relentlessly fought for my release. Several times you spoke to Magufuli until you came up with the Idea that set me up free. You personally contributed also for the fine money and you simply asked how much was the balance? My political mentor RAO."https://www.facebook.com/1673492782888202/posts/2213890935515048/.
Mr Gichana, an active member of Raila's previous campaigns, was arrested and detained in Arusha in 2013 over money laundering and fraud allegations.
