Tongaren Member of Parliament Eseli Simiyu has condemned the shooting incident at B club involving Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino.
Eseli, who spoke on Tuesday during an interview with NTV, said that it is saddening when leaders resort to misuse firearms to resolve their personal issues.
The lawmaker said that the MP should face the full force of the law if he is guilty of the charges levelled against him. Eseli argued that leaders should show a good example to the electorate, adding that is not good news when they are arrested over such incidences.
"It is a shame when leaders start misusing their firearms. If a leader knows that they have a short fuse then they should avoid carrying their guns, he said.
Babu Owino was arraigned in court on Monday over attempted murder. The court denied him bail after the prosecution objected the same. The court ordered the police to detain him for seven more days pending the probe into the shooting saga that left DJ Evolve with serious injuries.
The lawmaker on Monday urged his supporters to remain calm. He further said that he will share his side of the story when he leaves the police cell.
"I urge Kenyans to wait for my side of the story of what happened when I come from my new home at Industrial area prison. I also need Justice and it must be served to me. Meanwhile, these are occupational hazards," he posted on Facebook.
