While reacting to the arrest of three police officers who are in custody following the murder of a bodaboda rider, Mariba said no one is above the law.

"Police officers cannot take advantage of being security officers to take the law into their hands. The three security officers named; James Nyakina, Charles Chepkwony and Jackson Kirui who were attached to Nyamatoki Police Station in Bogichora ward, West Mugirango Constituency will be arraigned in court and charged with the murder of Amos Jomo Kemosi," said Mariba on Thursday.

Mariba warned that any police officer who engages in criminal activities must face the law without fear or favour.

He appealed to police officers to maintain a cordial working relationship with members of the public in a bid to curb insecurity in the area.

"It is high time police officers maintained a good working relationship with the public for the sake of ending crime. Under my tenure I will not condone police officers harassing unarmed members of the public," he stated.

Mariba said if the three suspects are found guilty, they will be thrown in jail to serve as an example to police officers fond of beating members of the public.
