President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday appointed a team of thirty technocrats to join the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) task-force, ahead of the implementation of the report.
Reports indicate the president made the appointment after consulting his handshake partner former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The appointment came barely a week after President Kenyatta announced the extension of BBI's term, to enable it to collect views from Kenyans.
The experts will be led by lawyer Tom Macharia, Prof Ben Sihanya and Catherine Mumo.
Some of the members of the committee include; ODM Executive Director Oduor Ong’wen, Cess Mutua, Prof Larry Gumbe, Patrick Kiloku, Kenneth Rotich, and Awuor Achoka.
Ong’wen told the Star on Thursday that the team has been tasked with traversing the country and collecting views from different parts of the nation, to add to the current report.
“These 30 people will hold town hall meetings across the country and collect the views of Kenyans on the report and make recommendations to the task-force,” he said.
The move to extend the task-force's term elicited mixed reactions from different factions.
