In the video, Jowie, who was arrested over his alleged links to the murder of Nairobi businesswoman Monica Kimani, is seen all-smiles as he sings during a service

The video, which was filmed during a service conducted by Nairobi pastor, Reverend Lucy Natasha at Kamiti Maximum Prison, has elicited mixed reactions from social media users.

In the short clip, Jowie is seen clapping alongside his colleagues. He was dressed in a prison uniform as they sang their hearts out during the service.

Reverend Natasha speaking to Betty Kyalo on Upclose aired on K24 said that she is happy whenever she takes the Word of God to different people including inmates.

Jowie was arrested alongside former Citizen TV journalist, Jacque Maribe. He has maintained that he is innocent.

His attempts to get bail have not yet borne fruits. Maribe was however released on bail after days in detention.

On October 9, 2018, the court denied Jowie bail for the second time. Justice James Wakiaga directed that the bail application will only be considered after four witnesses testify in court over the case.

The prosecution has also raised concern that he is likely to interfere with the evidence if granted bail.
