The early arrival of Senator James Orengo for Ndemo Nyagarama's funeral was not by coincidence, it has been revealed.
On Friday, Orengo partly conceded that he was compelled to come early to monitor the situation on the ground.
"I know Kisii's as no nonsense people. Bwana PM, I came early to monitor the situation," he said.
Party of the worry was the reception of the handshake between Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta, which ODM insiders thought could have not gone well with locals.
A source who spoke in confidence said Orengo took the intelligence team duty to analyse the situation.
"He had to come early as some of us waited for Raila from South Africa. We had been informed of a possible trouble by Jubilee supporters," said the source.
For months now, DP Ruto has pitched tent in Gusii region as he seeks to dethrone Raila from a region that has supported him for years.
Apparently, Governor Nyagarama is also said to be warming for Ruto, a reason which further worried Orengo.
