President Uhuru Kenyatta may have not been sincere after all about Raila's position in government, claims political analyst Gideon Mamboleo.
Last month, Uhuru insisted that his partnership with Raila Odinga was 'development partnership' following specifications about his latest foreign trips and missions.
"Nobody has been created a position. This is purely development partnership," he said.
While Raila also maintains the same, he has however accorded 'extreme reception' by Kenya's mission abroad while in official trips
And on Thursday, Mr. Odinga was spotted with an aide-de-camp at Kofi Annan's burial, a rare privilege most accorded to senior visiting government officials.
"I saw it and that is an indication that he's a senior government official. It could be difficult to tell his position but he must be in government by now," Mamboleo said.
Mr. Odinga played an integral role in South Sudan peace deal, a further indication of his powerful role in Uhuru's adminstration.
In March, the two brokered a peace deal that ended months of protracted electioneering period.
