Speaking on Sunday, the county boss stressed the need for former Vice President to exit the field and allow for the takeover of the next generation of leaders.

He suggested that the leader has already played his part on matters leadership and should accept the changing times by letting the new generation handle the remaining part.

"In life, there is a time for everything. It is now time for Kalonzo Musyoka to hand over the baton to subsequent generations," he stated on K24's Punchline, Sunday night.

This is not the first time the leader, who appears to be eyeing the Ukambani kingpin post, currently held by Kalonzo, is making such calls.

However, his calls appear to be landing on deaf ears, given that though Kalonzo has not been responding to his demands, he has not shown any signs of planning to exit active politics.

Actually, Kalonzo has even declared his presidential ambitions for the much-awaited 2022 general elections.

Similar ambitions are harboured by Mutua, who doubles up as the Maendeleo Chapchap (MCC) Party leader.
