Being honest in your place of work is good but to some extent, it is not the best policy. If you work around your boss avoid saying some things to them.
There are some statements and phrases you may use and they may cause your job.
1. I don't knowYou may be assigned a duty you sincerely don’t know how to do it. Instead of telling it to your boss that you don’t know, try all your skills to solve it. Better still you can ask your colleague to help you solve it.
2. I used to do this in my last job
Your previous job is nobody 's business because it ai a ting of the past. If it was better, you could have not come to the current one.
This statement will land you in problems with your current boss so never say it unless it is something creative.
3. I swear
Saying some cursing words in your workplace is very wrong. As much as you may want your boss to believe in what you are saying to him/her, avoid saying this.
4. That is not my job description
Despite noting in your CV that “you can do any other duty assigned” Most people tend to say this especially when they feel they are overworked. The statement tends to be rude and unprofessional.
5. Am going for an interviewYou may not be satisfied or comfortable with your current job so you keep applying for other jobs. If at all you are called for an interview, never say this to your boss. Look for any other excuse but never say this. Let me whisper this, “honesty is not always the best policy.”
