Former Kibwezi Mr Kalembe Ndile is rooting for the land belonging to the East African Portland Cement Company in Mavoko to be reverted back to the locals.
Speaking at a burial in Mukaa, Makueni County on Thursday, accused Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli of meddling into the affairs of the firm.
He criticised Atwoli for what he termed as interference with the possession of the land.
This is after Atwoli said that he must be consulted before anything can be done as far as the land is concerned is concerned.
According to the Cotu boss, he is owns 28 percent of the shares of the land because of his membership at the National Social Security Fund.
He lamented that there are powerful persons in the government who have decided to collude with the aim of looting the land from the public yet they are not the legal owners of the same.
The land has already been subdivided into different pieces and houses as well as business premises constructed on the same. Ndile said that Atwoli has no moral authority to claim ownership of the land under any circumstances.
"Atwoli should keep off the land in Athi River. We will not accept that the land goes to other parties other than the locals. The cement company did not buy the land and now that they have finished mining. President Kenyatta should ensure it reverts to the locals," said Mr Ndile, as quoted by Daily Nation.
