Governor Joyce Laboso’s ‘Girls Club’ have revealed her last wish for President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto.
Speaking during her second memorial ceremony at Sotik in Bomet County, on Friday, the female leaders stated that Laboso desired political peace between President Uhuru and his deputy. The two have factions within Jubilee party.
Led by Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service Rachel Shebesh, stated that the late governor informed the two leaders that they need peace for the sake of Kenyans.
“As friends of Joyce, we know there are things she wanted us to do and some of them we will make them public. I know President and the Deputy President she told you personally that she was concerned about the division, the people of Kenya are tired,” Shebesh said.
Nominated MP Cecily Mbarire revealed how they used to refer to each other as 'girls'. She stated that Dr. Laboso was concerned about the Tangatanga and Kieleweke factions that are polarising the nation.
“When we were in London we were sitting in the room with Joyce one day and she said this ‘girls come to sit here and tell me what is happening in Kenya and the politics of Tangatanga, Kieleweke,’ and we tell her we did not come to see her to talk politics but she would insist,” Mbarire added.
Other members of the ‘Girls Club’ present were former National Assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru (who also attended the Nairobi memorial) and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.
