Activist Boniface Mwangi now says President Uhuru Kenyatta risks failing to finance 2018/2019 budget despite signing into law the controversial Finance Bill.
The President on Friday assented to the bill which is introducing new taxes among them 8 per cent VAT on all petroleum products.
But Mwangi warned that government may still suffer financial gaps in the budget due to massive corruption in the Jubilee administration.
In a tweet on Friday, the vocal activist claimed Deputy President William Ruto was stealing billions of taxpayers' money and asked Uhuru 'not to keep his company'.
"Hey @UKenyatta all the money you need to finance the 2018 budget is with your brother @WilliamsRuto and the many friends you have in government that steal our taxes," he posted.
Mwangi said if the President will continue having Ruto as his deputy, Kenyans will also perceive him as corrupt for associating with people who were allegedly looting even funds Kenya has borrowed.
"If you keep the company of thieves @UKenyatta, you're a thief too. Rafiki ya mwizi ni mwizi. Kenya isn't broke because we pay less taxes, Kenya is broke cause Jubilee government has facilitated the looting of billions. Wanakopa, Wanaiba. Kazi ni Kuiba tu! (They are stealing what they are borrowing. Stealing is their game)" the activist added.
