Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has said that he decided to enter into the political arena because he wanted to change the lives of million of young people.
In an interview with K24, the Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement leader said that he opted to try his luck in matters of governance because he saw his people suffering and felt he was their savior
"I got into leadership because I wanted to change the lives of the young people," he said.
The second term governor pledged to continue supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta as he seeks to leave behind a legacy when he retires from the political arena in 2022. He noted that there is a big gap between different projects.
“I also joined politics because there was a gap in Implementation of projects and leadership,” he said.
The Kamba politician also urged good people to enter into the political field. He noted that Kenya will not reap much as far as devolution is concerned if the good persons decide to keep off the race for political seats.
“If good people keep away from politics, then bad people will continue to make our children suffer,” he added.
Mutua has hinted at contesting for Presidency in 2022. He is considered as one of the forces to reckon with as far the race to succeed Uhuru is concerned.
