Former Mukurwe-ini Member of Parliament Kabando Wa Kabando has read defeat in Deputy President William Ruto's latest remark on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
In a tweet on Friday, Ruto declared his support for the BBI report released on Tuesday, adding that he will support whichever way will be considered best to pass the proposed changes.
In a tweet later, Kabando, an anti-Ruto crusader, said that the DP's actions point at a man now seeking a truce with the pro-BBI team, after realising that he has no other option.
Kabando termed Ruto a powerless man, who is being fooled by some Mt Kenya politicians that he has influence in the region.
"DP William Ruto calling for Truce. I predicted it twice. As I said on KTN News and KTN PointBlank, “smart” RUTO is surrounded by ravenously greedy political vultures, hyenas. Deceived Kibra byelection (sic), still cheated he controls CentralKenya via Tangatangaism. HANDSHAKE is REAL," he said.
He added that the tweet is proof that Ruto's narrative that he controls the majority of the suffering and poor Kenyans is false and does not hold any political water.
He has predicted that Ruto will be further sidelined by fellow politicians after the BBI launch on Wednesday, which he termed a "political waterloo".
He also predicted tough times ahead for Ruto's allies, popularly known as 'Tangatanga', adding that they will be defeated by the President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga side.
"Doesn’t the (sic) today’s tweet William Ruto fit exactly? The so-called “hustler nation” was always a myth. Bomas was political Waterloo. Moving forward, Tangatanga squad will limp, swagger, stagger, stammer, stagnate. Kieleweke battalion has won, folding up too. REFERENDUM GEAR ON," he wrote.
This comes at a time when allies of the DP have insisted that the BBI report can be looked at through the Parliament.
On the other hand, Raila, who is a major player in the push for changes, his allies and those of Uhuru have rooted for a referendum, saying that the report must be owned by Kenyans.
