President Kenyatta has been under attack from the group allied to his deputy William Ruto, since his truce with ODM boss Raila Odinga in 2018.

The Amani National Congress deputy leader now wants the president to call for a snap election to weed out the culprits, whom he says are under the orders of Ruto.

"He should just crack the whip and say that if my deputy can't work with me and is working with my political detractors on the ground, then let's dissolve this government and go back to an election," Savula told KTN News on Friday.

He termed it questionable that the group has only been blaming Kenyatta for Jubilee government fails, yet Kenyatta and Ruto were elected as a pair.

He stressed on the need for the group to tone down on the attacks and criticisms and let the president work on delivering his agenda.

"They were elected a pair and I can confirm to you that the Tangatanga group belongs to the Deputy President. Why can't we give this guy time to work," the Lugari MP added.

Savula's comments were sparked by Kandara MP Alice Wahome's recent comment that Raila Odinga is the President's "mercenary for hire" and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report is the special purpose vehicle.

"The biggest existential threat to Kenya's declining economy and democracy and freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of political affiliation and growth is Uhuru Kenyatta," Wahome said in her New Year's message to the country.

The Kandara MP is a close ally of the Deputy President.
