Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Sports Rashid Mohamed Echesa and Alego Usonga Member of Parliament (MP) Samuel Atandi reportedly came to near blows at the Kisumu International Airport on Monday.
The MP allegedly confronted the CS as he was preparing to board a plane from Kisumu to Nairobi.
Atandi reportedly asked Echesa why he was attacking ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
The CS allegedly asked Atandi ‘who is Raila?’ leading to a scuffle that was immediately toned down by the airport police.
“I am not aware of the scuffle between the two leaders because I am in reserve. Kindly call the County Commander,” Kisumu OCPD Meshack Kiptum told this writer when called to comment on the alleged scuffle.
The County Commander Job Boronjo did not pick up when called by this writer.
Recently, CS Echesa attacked ODM Raila Odinga claiming that the opposition Chief wants him sacked from cabinet for being a loyal supporter of Deputy president William Ruto.
Echesa said that Odinga should give him a break because he is not his equal.
Politicians aligned to ODM have condemned the CS for his sentiments against Odinga.
Echesa was a national youth leader in ODM before breaking ranks with the Orange Party leadership.
