Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has announced that the government has no plans to extend the period for the registration of Huduma Namba.
Speaking during a press conference at Harambee House, Nairobi, the CS revealed that the government is impressed by the number of Kenyans who have turned up to register for the same.
He noted that an estimated 31 million Kenyans have already registered for the service, adding that the government is optimistic that the number will increase.
“So far 31 million Kenyans have registered for Huduma Namba which is 65 per cent of our projected population in the country in terms of registration,” he said, as quoted by Standard.
He also urged Kenyans from different walks of life to turn up to the nearest local administration offices (Assistant Chief's office) in different parts of the nation so that they can register for the same.
The CS noted that the registration will benefit Kenyans when it comes to service delivery.
He urged Kenyans to ignore rumors that there are ill-motives behind the registration exercise, adding that the government has also set up registration stations across the world to ensure that those in diaspora benefit from the same.
