It is yet again another joyful day for fuel consumers as the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) revised fuel prices. Since midnight super petrol was down by Sh 4, Diesel by Sh 6.28 and Kerosene by Sh 5.20.

Speaking to Mr. Zachariah Madegwa an employee at Total Kisii petrol station, they have already complied with the new retail prices. 

“Though it’s a loss we have no choice but to comply with the new rates,” said Zachariah.

Makori Dennis a Boda Boda rider on Kisii - Igonga route expressed his joy about the new prices. 

“I was shocked this morning after visiting a petrol station and found out fuel prices are down at a greater margin. This has made me and my fellow riders to reduce fare price from the usual Sh 100 to Sh 70,” Makori confirmed.

According to Evans Matwetwe a PSV driver on Kisii - Kenyenya route, he is happy and also commuters of Kisii to Kenyenya route are now smiling since they have reduced the bus fare for them from Sh 200 to Sh 150. 

“I congratulate the Government for what they have done and I hope they will not raise the prices high again,” Evans spoke.

Willis Ongeni, a private vehicle owner was grateful to the ERC. He said that it’s a relief to him because he can now fuel his vehicle and reach his destinations without any inconveniences. 

 This new decree by the ERC means fuel retail prices in Kisii will be; Sh 102.50 for petrol, Sh 98.50 for Diesel and Sh 99 for Kerosene.
