Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has found himself on the receiving end after he claimed Deputy President William Ruto threatened him.
Mutua on Monday alleged Ruto, alongside Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and his National Assembly counterpart Aden Duale, threatened him with unspecified consequences over his comments on national issues.
The allegations, however, has angered a section of Jubilee leaders who have come out guns blazing to attack the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader.
"Duale, Murkomen: The cinema guy has put you in his latest cast and he wants to star with William Ruto. Kweli siasa ina bangi zake!" Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa posted on Twitter.
Nominated Senator Falhada Dekow Iman asked the Governor to provide evidence and accused him of disrespecting Ruto.
"Mr Mutua where is your proof of this threats you are alleging? Give respect to our DP Ruto of this Republic of Kenya!!" Iman posted.
On his part, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi accused Mutua of seeking political relevance by claiming Ruto could be planning to assassinate him.
"Alfred Mutua is not a worthy leader, he is just but a Slay King seeking cheap publicity. He's among the five most corrupt Governors in Kenya. William Ruto is not in your league. Stick to your lanes and stop seeking attention," Sudi tweeted.
The DP is yet to address the allegations but both Murkomen and Duale have dismissed the claims saying Mutua was out to damage their reputations.
