Speaking during the burial of Kenya Engineering Workers Union official Fredrick Odindo, in Rageng’ni, Siaya County, on Saturday, Atwoli said that the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Nordin  Haji should summon the second in command to record a statement over the Sh63 billion Aror and Kimwarer dam scandals.

Atwoli accused Deputy President, who is considered as one of the front runners in the race for power, of intimidating President Kenyatta as he seeks to leave behind a legacy before he completes his second and final term in power.

“We know that he (Ruto) intimidated President Kenyatta to appoint his people in key agencies like the Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Power, Cereals Board to steal for him,” Mr Atwoli alleged, as quoted by Daily Nation.

Atwoli said that the war against graft should not be politicized even as Uhuru seeks to protect public resources from looters.

Atwoli also said that former National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich should name other people who asked him to append the signatures in the dam saga.

He noted that there is no way he will die alone when there are other people linked to the loss of funds in the multimillion scandal.
