Everything is set and ready for this years' national celebrations of Jamhuri Day.
The celebrations are scheduled to be held at Nyayo Stadium which has been upgraded to meet the modern standards.
According to Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, at least 30,000 people are expected to attend the celebrations.
“The stage is set, and we expect 30,000 people to attend this year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations,” Kibicho said as quoted by the Star.
"We also expect local and foreign guests," he added.
The PS visited the stadium on Tuesday to inspect the progress of the preparations.
He was accompanied with his Sports counterpart Kirimi Kaberia, Gordon Kihalangwa (Public Works) and ICT's Jerome Ochieng among other state officers.
Jamhuri Day is a national holiday which Kenya celebrates for becoming a republic on 12 December 1964.
It is also called Independence Day as it took power from the British who had colonised Kenya.
It is usually celebrated annually and this year is the 55th Jamhuri Day Kenyans are celebrating.
