Judiciary has been thrown to a limbo following Mwilu's arrest over tax evasion among other alleged crimes given her high profile.

And the lawyer, a close confidant of Nyamira Senator Okong'o Mogeni, said JSC would discuss the legality of the clandestine case.

"While it's not ethical to discuss a matter before the court, I am aware that Chief Justice convened a JSC meeting on Thursday.

"He is set to discuss the legality of her arrest, the procedure to be followed and if possible, JSC role in the matter," he said in confidence.

At the Supreme Court on Wednesday, Maraga refused to discuss Mwilu's woes adding that it was an active matter in court.

This comes even as Nyamira senator Okong'o Mogeni fired at DPP, accusing him of being a political puppet.

"The DPP is being misused. He should stick to the law. He knows this weakened case is purely civil and not criminal."
