Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) assistant coach Sammy Omollo “Pamzo” has faulted Gor Mahia fans for embracing hooliganism in yesterday’s Kenya Premier League game at the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos.
Speaking on a national radio station while commentating football yester night, Pamzo wondered why at such an era, fans still throw stones to opponents in a football match.
“The game was nice and had a brilliant momentum until we scored, but the Gor fans did not want to accept that we were the better side” lamented Pamzo who is a former Gor Mahia player.
At some point, the game had to be adjourned for thirty minutes after Gor fans went violent claiming that the referee was unfair to them.
After the final whistle, the situation worsened inside and outside Kenyatta stadium.
The Gor Mahia fans were throwing stones to KCB players and fans.
“They even blocked us on our way out and in the process, they throw stones at our bus and ruined it badly, I can say that was an embarrassing moment to Kenyan football and it should not occur again anywhere” he added.
Pamzo urged the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to punish Gor Mahia severely so as to send a warning to those who promote hooliganism in Kenyan football.
KCB beat Gor Mahia 1-0 in the fixture and banked three important points.
