His father Getachew Tessema, a retired plastic surgeon and dentist, on Thursday painfully narrated how his son died before accomplishing his plans with marriage being one of them.

The pilot was set to walk down the aisle with his fiancee who is a captain before the end of the year. In an exclusive interview with Reuters, the father said he was not only a jovial young man but also brilliant.

He dreamt of becoming a pilot and did all he could to make the dream come true. The father wished the pilot had a child before his death.

“At least if he had had a child...” he trailed off painfully, as quoted by Citizen Digital.

Despite queries that the pilot was not fully conversant with the airline, the father believed he was the best.

His co-pilot Ahmednur Mohammed had just rented his first apartment after he got his February paycheck but death took away his life.

The pilot of the plane had also revealed that he had forgotten his phone but assured the mother that he would call her once he landed at JKIA, which never happened.
