Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe now accuses DCI George Kinoti of planting a spy at Gigiri police station to illegally solicit information from her about the death of Monica Kimani.
In an explosive affidavit, Ms. Maribe, who's now fighting to secure bail, adds that the man identified as Kenneth Omondi, was at Gigiri police station when she was first arrested last month and tried to obtain information from her unscrupulously.
"At Gigiri police station, detectives planted a spy who tried to obtain information about the death of Monica Kimani illegally.
"He said that he knows my house in Royal Park. He repeatedly asked me questions that were not in the public domain then, including what kind of investigating officer Chief Inspector M. Otieno is," she claimed, adding that the man sneaked into women section against the law.
Ms. Maribe now wants the court to release her on bail, citing her baby as the main reason why she wants to get out.
In her request, she also says that she will surrender her passport and would report to any police station or court whenever needed.
High Court Judge James Wakiaga will listen and determine her plea on October 24th. Ms. Maribe seems to detach herself from her fiance Joseph Irungu, who is also facing murder charges.
