Police in Nakuru on Thursday morning gunned down two suspected robbers who had abducted a male adult at Lanet pipeline area.
According to the police, the suspects gained access to the house by cutting window grills while armed with crude weapons before loading all electronics into the vehicle and left with a blindfolded male adult in his small Toyota vehicle at 3 am.
After a tip-off by members of the public, police gave a chase towards Makaburini area in Manyani estate in Nakuru where they managed to shoot dead the two of the fours gangsters.
Their accomplices fled with gunshot wounds into a maize plantation.
One of the suspects gunned down is a hardcore criminal in the neighbouring Kanyon estate in Nakuru East constituency.
Nakuru County Police Commander Hassan Barua confirmed the incident.
He said police are in pursuit of the other two suspects who managed to escape during the shootout.
Barua asked medics and the public to report anyone seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
All stolen items were recovered and the abducted man rescued. Bodies of the suspects were taken to Nakuru county public morgue.
