In March this year during his trip to Namibia, an active Uhuru quit social media platforms, raising questions that remain unanswered to date.

Mr Waita, in a statement, claimed that the president had quit social media following unauthorized access to his accounts, promising that they would be restored later.

"On account of unauthorised access to the official social media handles of H.E the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta. All official social media handles for the President have been temporarily suspended to allow for the necessary remedial measures to be undertaken," he said as quoted by the Nation.

Since then, the accounts have remained deactivated with Kenyans now depending on State House Twitter account for all news feeds from the Head of State.

But on Sunday at Kasarani, Uhuru seemingly differed with his Chief of Staff, revealing that he had quit social media due to immature politicking.

“When they see me remain silent, they should not think they are threatening me. I will flush them out from where they are… Just because you are making headlines, don’t think you will bother me. And that is why I stopped concentrating on newspapers or those Facebooks of theirs,” said the President.

He accused politician of taking advantage of his silence to intimidate him by making headlines. He warned that he will soon crush them.
