Homa Bay Township MP George Peter Kaluma Opondo has, however, appeared to hold a different opinion on those remarks.

According to Kaluma, the remarks by DP Ruto was confirming the opposition leader Raila Odinga has leadership qualities that can be used in the United Kingdom.

"I was very excited as a believer in the leadership capacity of Raila Odinga when I had the Deputy President confirm that his leadership capacity is such he can be the Prime Minister of UK," MP Kaluma said speaking on NTV's Sidebar show.

The MP added many people interpreted DP Ruto's remarks in a negative way but he took it positively as it confirmed what he had already known about the ODM leader.

ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna had criticised DP Ruto for those remarks, asking him to deliver the job promise to youths rather than keeping tabs with the former Prime Minister.

"How about DP Ruto first deals with the CVs of the millions of jobless youth we have in our country. He promised millions of jobs in Jubilees first term and even more in the second but he appears only keen on RAOs CV," read a tweet by Sifuna.
