Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has launched complaints after he was forced to surrender his firearm to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) following an order from police.

Ngunjiri while addressing the press on Tuesday at Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices in Nakuru claimed that he was left defenseless.

The MP surrendered two guns to DCI.

He however added that he was now depending on his followers for protection.

“As you can see me now I do not have any weapon for self-protection. I am naked but the people are my security,” he stated.

Ngunjiri further revealed that he had also been stripped off his bodyguard who was directed to be in Nairobi by 2:00 pm.

The lawmaker nonetheless claimed their was foul play in the move to withdraw his security.

“This is a witch-hunt. I beg our President, the way things are going will divide Kenyans in a very bad way," he noted.

The MP who is known to be an ally of DP Ruto added that the move may have been influenced by his remarks on allegations that the Deputy President locked out of his residence in Mombasa.

“That I said the DP's things were removed from his house in Mombasa (Ati mimi nilisema DP alitolewa vitu kwa nyumba yake Mombasa). But this was in the paper and I do not see any offence in it,” he added.
