On Monday, the MP held a meeting with various stakeholders among them members of Kisumu Bouncers Association and members of the clergy where it was agreed that the six be laid down to rest on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in their respective homes in Nyando.

A statement released by the Nyando Communication Unit indicated that the Nyando Constituency office will settle the funeral expenses.

“The Nyando Constituency Office and the County Government of Kisumu will settle all the funeral expenses necessary to give the six a befitting sendoff,” said the statement.

Before the burial, there will be a joint interdenominational prayer service on Friday (November 22) at Karanda Primary School from 10 am. The bouncers died after being attacked by irate members of the public at Masebula village, while on a mission to provide security to Mercy Awuor, following the death of her slain husband Johannes Onyango Okoth.

Okoth was killed by unknown people two weeks ago. It is claimed she sought the help of the bouncers after her late husband’s family linked her to his death.

Various leaders among them Kisumu County Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o have condemned the killings, calling on police not to rest until culprits are brought to book.
