Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino left the country to represent Kenya on an official state function after he was nominated by the Speaker of the National Assembly.
Taking to his Facebook page on Thursday evening, the legislator expressed his pleasure by the honour accorded to him by the Speaker and People of Kenya.
"The Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Justin Mututi has nominated me to represent the August House in engagement with the Republic of Hungary, "read his Facebook post.
During the visit to Budapest, Hungary, the vocal legislator among other dignitaries will meet with the Head of State of the Republic of Hungary His Excellency Janos Adero and the Speaker of the National Assembly Laslo Kover amongst Kenyans living abroad in Hungary.
"I welcome this great honour as I depart for Budapest today evening for a five-day official visit,
"During my stay, I am scheduled to meet the Rt. Hon Speaker of the National Assembly Laslo Kover and subsequently H.E the President of the Republic Janos Ader as well as Kenyans living in Hungary," he added.
According to his post, his visit will centre on matters education bearing in mind, the legislator is an academician of the highest pedigree.
"Our talks will be centred around deepening the relationship between our two nations as well as areas of possible cooperation especially in education," he reiterated.
"Please keep me in your prayer that I may succeed in this venture," said Owino.
