The Tangatanga group consists Jubilee parliamentarians in support of Deputy President William Ruto and his 2022 presidential bid.

Speaking on News Night on Citizen TV, Tuesday night, the MP, despite appearing close to the DP, said that he is not a member of Tangatanga and would rather be called a Jubilee member.

He added that he is also not aware of the existsnce of any group with such a name.

"No, I am a member of the Jubilee Party. I don't know about Tangatanga movement," he said.

The MP proceeded to weigh-in on the 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The handshake has not been received well by Ruto, who has repeatedly accused Raila of coming on board with a hidden motive.

He has repeatedly accused Raila of using the :Handshake' to disrupt peace within the party, in a bid to weaken it ahead of the 2022 polls.

Ichungwa reiterated the remarks, claiming that though Uhuru is sincere in the his to reunite the nation, Raila harbours some insincerity.

He said that Raila is not honest as Uhuru would like him to be.

"The president means what he says and does what he says. On the other hand he is dealing with someone who he expects to be honest but that is not the case," he said.
