This follows the party's decision to expel area MP Aisha Jumwa over allegations of siding with the Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking on Monday, Sifuna said that the party is ready to once again go into by-elections, only days after embarrassing losses in similar polls in Ugenya and Embakasi South.

"Tuko tayari kwa uchaguzi mdogo wa Malindi hata kama tutashindwa tena. Ni kweli tulishindwa lakini hatutabadili maadili yetu na kuingiwa na woga kwa sababu hiyo.

(We are ready for the by elections and will not be shaken or scared by the losses we recently registered in the initial ones. We cannot change our morals because of a defeat)," he said.

Sifuna was speaking on Radio Citizen's Jambo Kenya on Monday morning.

He added that nomination preparations re already in progress ad the party seeks to pick the best candidate to represent it in the race.

"Tayari tunajipanga kufanya mchujo. Tushinde ama tushindwe lazima tuwaadhibu wanaokosea chama heshima (we must punish party offenders. Actually, nomination preparations are in progress)," he added.

However, the by election could take longer or not take place at all after Jumwa vowed to challenge the party ruling through every available route.
