Baringo Woman Representative Gladwell Cheruiyot has hit out at a section of fellow Rift Valley politicians for politicizing the war against corruption.
Speaking on Sunday, the lawmaker bashed the group for personalizing the purge to a specific community in a veiled shot at politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto.
She hit out at the group for drawing the Kalenjin community into their own corruption problems.
The parliamentarian added that corruption is a personal offence committed by individuals or groups of people in secret and should not be turned into a community affair.
"Ufidadi sio jamii, wanaoiba hawasemi wanapoiba was hivyo wanapokamatwa wasiseme ni jamii inapigwa (corruption is a secret and personal affair, let the community not be dragged in by the culprits)," she said.
"Mara mingi ni sisi watu wa Rift Valley ndio tunalia eti tunapigwa (it seems we from Rift Valley are leading in making such claims)," she added.
Ruto's allies have been crying foul with regards to the purge and have as well repeatedly termed it a plot to spoil Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.
The KANU parliamentarian was speaking on 'Debe La Citizen' show on Radio Citizen.
