Ms. Otieno was murdered and her body thrown in Kodera forest hours after she kidnapped along with Nation journalist Barrack Oduor.

And according to lawyer Cliff Ombeta, Ms. Otieno had warned Obado's son, Dan Toto against pursuing romantic relationship with her since she was expecting his father's baby.

“In fact, a few days before she met her death, Sharon had texted Obado’s son beseeching him to respect her as his mother now that she was carrying his father’s child,” said Ombeta.

The two are said to have entered into a relationship around April, the time Sharon was also in a commitment with Governor Obado.

A source claimed that Mr. Toto and Sharon would be seen in Migori and Kisumu most of the time.

“They started dating in April this year and were spotted together in Kisumu and Migori,” said the source who is a close friend to Obado, his son and daughter.

Last week, Obado admitted having dated Sharon besides conceding that the pregnancy was his.

He had reportedly planned to purchase her a house in Migori, a plan that would however scuttle after Sharon's death.

But her mother, Melida Auma, claimed that the governor wanted her daughter to abort the pregnancy, a reason that precipitated their disagreement.
