Following the entry of Prezo Nazlin Umar from Garissa county into the presidential race, it might not be a surprise that the Majority leader Aden Duale dumps him in favor of her ex-lover.
The move might give the majority leader a tough decision to make as to whether to support his long time friend William Ruto or to back Umar.
If the Garissa Township MP opts to back Nazlin, then the DP will have suffered a blow of the year given the zeal and support that the legislator has been offering the Deputy President.
Just several months ago, Duale openly stated in a live television interview that he would do anything within his disposal to ensure William Ruto ascends to the country's top political seat even as more seasoned politicians display keen interest in the seat.
It is on record that the Garissa MP has been supporting DP Ruto's political bid for close to a decade now ever since they broke ranks with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) headed by Raila Odinga.
To show his undivided support, Duale recently stated that Raila Odinga was bringing in the issue of referendum to get into statehouse through back doors.
If Duale decides to do the unthinkable and back Umar, that move would alter the country's political dynamics.
It could leave DP Ruto wounded and exposed.
