The body of Robinson Kenyanya who is alleged to have been murdered by his relatives and buried in a pit latrine was recovered on Wednesday.
Kenyanya had disappeared over a month ago from his home in Iringi Village, Gucha South.
The villagers located the place where Kenyanya's body had been buried - in a pit latrine - after getting information on what had happened. Efforts to retrieve it begun immediately on Wednesday.
The deceased is said not to have been in good terms with his step-brother and sons for a long time.
According to the neighbours, the deceased had cried out on the day he is believed to have been murdered.
"We had him cry from his house and on responding, one of the family members dared us not to approach their compound," one of the neighbours said.
The police have so far arrested three people, among them close relatives, in connection to the murder case.
The 10 feet pit latrine from which the body was recovered had been filled with stones, branches and on top of it, a banana stem was planted.
