Miguna who cited an executive order introduced in 2014, argued that President Uhuru Kenya may have authorised the over Sh7 billion that was spent on the dams project.

"In 2014, Despot Uhuru Kenyatta imposed an executive order that "All Government contracts or payments of Kshs 1 billion or more must be authorised by the President, Uhuru Kenyatta. Since #ArrorandKimwarer were for more than Kshs. 7 billion, when is Uhuru being charged for fraud?" Miguna Miguna wrote on Twitter

Miguna's call comes barely 24 hours after the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji ordered the arrest of Treasury CS Henry Rotich and other top officials who were stakeholders in the construction of the dams in Elgeyo Marakwet.

The project which was overseen an Italian construction company, CMC Di Ravenna, has been termed as one of the biggest corruption scandals in the country.

The former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant had earlier termed the arrest of CS Rotich as a public relations stunt

Similar sentiments were echoed by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who opined that Rotich's arrest was a charade.
