Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has said that he is fully behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) because it addresses the needs of the taxpayers.

In a series of tweets, Mwaura said that the report is a big win for Kenyans. He said that the report highlights that there will a strong presidency. Mwaura said that the fact that the Presidency has been retained gives him more reasons to back the report. He noted that the recommendations for the prime minister, deputy president, and two deputies.

"We scored big The 1 man 1 vote has been retained No ceremonial president no parliamentary system in a first past the post manner as it was anticipated. We applied pressure at the right time. Now it’s a PM with 2 deputies just like we had in the National Accord," he tweeted.

Mwaura noted that the introduction of the official opposition is a good idea, adding that the formation of the shadow cabinet will mark the beginning of a new era. Mwaura further said that leaders should avoid sideshows and concentrate on matters of national interest.

"Ministers from parliament and leader of official opposition to be in parliament with a shadow cabinet. Nothing very fundamental to be precise. The rest is political hubris, grandstanding and theatrics on who will occupy what position when and how,"  he added.
