"It was around 5 pm when my daughter was returning home from school when the kidnapper, who had parked his probox car in front of our gate lured her into the car," said the girl's mother, Elizabeth Moraa.

Moraa said villagers who spotted her daughter entering into the car alerted her.

"Locals informed me about the probox car which speed off immediately my daughter got in. I mobilized bodaboda riders who gave the car a chase towards Roret," said the frustrated mother.

Pius Mariera, a bodaboda rider who chased the car, said the kidnapper upon realizing he was being chased, he threw the girl from the car and sped off.

"The kidnapper was lucky to have escaped, he could be dead by now," said Mariera.

Area community policing chairman Aching'a Mosioma said the probox car could not be identified because it had no number plate.

"Locals can only recognize the car by color and not number plate which was not there. It seems it was the first time kidnapper was trying to commit such an incident," said Mosioma.
