Thousands of Kenyans had gathered at the venue to watch Harambee Stars match against Ethiopia that saw the national team run riot against the neighbours 3-0.

With claims that Oliech was flushed out of VVIP by Deputy President William Ruto's security team, a section of Kenyans want FKF to explain was Oliech was not given preferential treatment prior to entry to the stadium.

"This is Kenya's legend queuing at Kasarani. We lost sense in treating our heroes. That's why most of them die in misery despite serving the county," tweeted Dan Makori.

Another user, Philip Etale said: "We are mistreating legends. I expected him to be at the stadium just like any other VIP. FKF should give an explanation."

In the history of Kenyan football, Oliech, who had professional spells in Qatar and France, remains all time top scorer.

Despite claims that he was kicked out of VVIP along with former captain Musa Otieno, Oliech was seen sitted along with Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Senator Cleophas Malala at VIP section.

He first appeared for the national team in 2001 after being scouted from Kamukunji secondary by former coach Reinhard Fabish.

But despite the allegations, neither DP William Ruto's team nor FKF have denied or refuted alleged mistreatment of the former Harambee Stars forward.
