So first of all, no one should be allowed to destroy our forests. Secondly, this is a useless move from Ruto. Bure kabisa! The Kalenjin vote in its entirety belongs to him no matter what "wrongs" he may commit against "his people."
Saying Raila is behind it will not make him gain any support or prevent him from losing any. Thirdly, ODM should not waste precious time responding to this. Kalenjin is not a battleground. There are no significant votes to collect there. Don't invest there.
Finally, Ruto instigated this himself. To what end I don't know. Probably to draw out Raila as an enemy. He badly needs an enemy so as to thrive politically. He knows Uhuru is the real enemy but he can't go head to head with him.
He feels Gideon is too local and inconsequential so he doesn't want to go down to his level. so he needs to make Raila be the enemy. A worthy enemy.
