President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday held talks with Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, at State House in Nairobi.
Mia Amor arrived in the country on Wednesday, where she was given a warm welcome by the head of state.
In a tweet, State House revealed some details of their meeting.
''President Uhuru Kenyatta and Prime Minister of Barbados, the Rt. Hon. Mia Amor Mottley today at State House, Nairobi led bilateral talks between their respective delegations. The two leaders witnessed the signing of two agreements between Kenya and Barbados,'' noted State House.
The avoidance of double taxation was the first agreement signed between the two countries. Secondly, they also signed an MOU on health.
According to the MOU signed, the two countries will ''allow Kenyan universities to enter into partnerships with Barbadian institutions for training of health professionals.''
The Barbados Prime Minister noted that her country will be glad if Kenya Airways flies to her country.
Inviting Kenyan investors into her country, the Barbados PM noted that her country will appoint a Kenyan ambassador next year.
The meeting between the two comes a day after President Uhuru held a two-day summit with other heads of states in Nairobi.
The 9th African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) summit was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
