Embattled former Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe's recent threats to Deputy President William Ruto should not be ignored.

The latter appears very steady in his remarks and declaration to paralyze Ruto's presidential bid for the approaching 2022 general elections.

His audacity to openly wage a war against the second most powerful man in the nation is itself proof that he is a political animal who can bite.

Were he just anybody out there, then he would not have gone to that extent for fear of victimization by Ruto and team.

Let it not be forgotten that the DP also enjoys state power like his boss and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

It's also worth noting that the former Gatanga lawmaker remains untouched two months after he made his first declaration in Vihiga last December.

Even Ruto himself seems to be avoiding the issue, proof that he could be fearing the man who is considered a close confidant of Uhuru.

This could mean that he is more fortified than many think and could be enjoying the protection of top state organs, powers above Ruto.

Were it anyone else, then we would by now be seeing their businesses being closed down and graft allegations of some long gone dealings being revisited.

The latter also made it clear in Vihiga that he has retired from politics and is not eyeing any seat.

This that the only thing he has to worry about is his health, another fact making him a man to handle with care.

He does not need to be humble or please anyone in his operations and is at liberty to do whatever he wants and this makes him a very dangerous element to Ruto's bid.

These reasons point at a man who can go to any extent to realize his plans without the fear of being countered.

And if he indeed is close to Uhuru as is being said, he could easily convince him against the DP which would be another major to Ruto's statehouse bid.
